Carry-On Size Limits: What Fits on Every Airline

Most major airlines allow carry-on bags up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Budget carriers like Spirit and Frontier have slightly smaller limits. Luhxe carry-on bags are built within standard overhead bin dimensions and approved on airlines including Delta, United, American, Southwest, JetBlue, and international carriers. Soft-sided bags like the Travel Bag 2.0 also compress to fit tighter spaces on regional jets.

How to Pack a Carry-On for a Week-Long Trip

Luhxe carry-on bags hold 38+ items of clothing and 5 pairs of shoes. Use the built-in shoe compartment to separate footwear from clothes, roll soft items like t-shirts and underwear, and lay structured pieces like blazers flat against the wrinkle-resistant lining. The included shoe bag and laundry bag help keep clean and dirty items separate throughout your trip.

Carry-On Bags with Wheels vs Without

The Travel Bag 2.0 Roller Edition gives you both — a detachable roller system you can snap on for long airport walks and remove for a cleaner duffel look. The Leather Duffel and Hoodie Backpack are wheelless for travelers who prefer going hands-free. If you are connecting through large airports like ATL or DFW, wheels help. For quick weekend trips or subway commutes, shoulder carry is faster.

FAQs about carry-on bags

Is a duffel bag or backpack better as a carry-on?
Duffel bags offer more total space for clothes and shoes. Backpacks free up both hands for boarding and navigating airports. The Hoodie Backpack is ideal for day trips, while the Travel Bag 2.0 or Leather Duffel handles full-week packing.
Can I bring a carry-on and a personal item?
Most airlines allow one carry-on bag plus one personal item. Pair a Luhxe duffel as your carry-on with the 3-in-1 Tote as your personal item for maximum packing capacity.
How do I avoid checked bag fees?
Pack carry-on only. Luhxe bags hold enough for a week-long trip in a carry-on-sized bag, saving up to $65 per flight on airlines that charge for checked luggage.
What are standard carry-on size limits?
Most airlines allow up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Luhxe carry-ons are designed inside those limits and are approved on over 100 airlines.
Do carry-on bags fit budget airline sizers?
Sizers vary by carrier and are stricter on budget airlines. Luhxe bags are built to the common 22 x 14 x 9 standard, so check your specific airline if you are flying ultra low cost.
